Tres Cordilleras

Become in the enormous pride for the city’s beer lovers this brewery has been successful for Medellin and Colombia.

The Lowdown.

The history of this brewery dates back to 1996. Juanchi Vélez, a Colombian beer lover, traveled to Atlanta (United States) with one goal in mind: to become the father of craft beer in Colombia.

At Sweet Water, one of North America's leading microbreweries, he worked for six years. Tres Cordilleras ranges would be born 12 years later in the eternal spring city.

Giving Colombia’s biggest “little” brewery, Bogota Beer Company, a run for its money, Medellin’s most successful “artesanal” brewer, Tres Cordilleras is of enormous pride for the city’s beer lovers.

Its pale ale (Mestiza) and the Amber ale (Mulata) are readily available in most of Medellin’s best bars, and the company offers tours of its brewery on Thursday and Friday.
